How to Make Money When You're a Teen

Make Money When You're Too Young for a Job

Deleted
One of the major questions that I have thought about my teen years is how am I going to make some extra cash fast. This started right after I stopped getting allowance and about three years before I could get an actual job. I thought and thought, but everything was either too hard or a scam. But I did find some ways that did work, and I'm going to share them.

The way I have made the most money is by doing hard, physical work. I know we all don't like doing it, but it has its ups (and downs). An example for physical work is mowing lawns. One summer, my friends and I joined together to start a lawn mowing business. The first summer, we had to have made several hundred dollars all together, just off one house. We only charged $20 and mowed every two weeks. We mowed the front and the back, plus we trimmed. It was done in about an hour and then we would all hang out. It wasn't all bad because most of the time, we kept each other company and it was relatively easy.

Another example of physical work is shoveling driveways. I remember that one-week, I made over $75 dollars just by shoveling two houses for a week (and it only snowed 2 days!). This is a type of job where you can charge anywhere from $10 to possibly $25 depending on how much it snowed. I know the feeling of having to do it, but it only takes about an hour and you get paid 15-20 bucks. If you think about it, that's 20 bucks an hour and that's pretty good. I also remember feeling a sense of accomplishment and learning the value of money. Now I always thing twice, "Is this really worth shoveling a driveway for?" But moving lawns and shoveling driveways isn't all. Send a flyer out around the neighborhood saying you will do random jobs. Although it may be hard, it's good money and you will be happy in the end.

But all work isn't physical. There are many other things you can do for neighbors that don't require a lot of effort, such as watching a pet. This is a fun thing to do if you like animals and it is normally a quick job. I remember that I used to go and feed my neighbors dog and play with it. It was fun for me, and I even earned a couple bucks for doing it. Another thing you can do is baby-sitting. If your worried that no one will hire you, get certified. There are free classes everywhere, so just look around. Plus, babysitting is a high-paying and pretty regular job. It's pretty fun and easy too.

Probably one of the most fun ways to make money is by using your talents. For example, I am good at fixing computers. My mom asked around and her friend's computer was broken. I went over and spent probably about an hour fixing it, and I made $20. It was enjoyable, plus I learned a few things. Think about what your good at, even volunteer to do something for free. Just ask them if they could spread the word so that you get more people calling you. Before you know it, you could have a whole business.

I hope you make some money and you learned a lot from this article. I will be writing more articles soon, so please check back for more.

Thanks for your time.
