Freelance writing is a career like no other. It gives us the ability to make money doing something that just seems to come naturally. There is no doubt that writing is a passion that words cannot describe. The urge to write is like an instinct. Isn't it a wonderful thing that we can take this gift we've been given and turn it into cash?

As it goes with any career the goal is to do what you do and do it well. The objective is to make money and hopefully to help someone out along the way. A writers income is limited to the amount that they write.

That is the first secret to making more money writing. Your income is only limited by you. The more you write the more you will earn. Say you can make five dollars per four hundred words. If you were to write ten articles of four hundred words in one day you would make fifty dollars for that day. If you were to do this each day, six days per week you would make three hundred dollars.

The whole thing about it is it's really not that easy to write ten articles a day. However, if you set yourself on a schedule and faithfully write as many articles as you can per day your income will increase. It takes a lot of determination and will. The more you write and earn the easier it will become.

The way to write more is to think more. Coming up with ten things to write about per day should be easy when absolutely anything can be written about. However, it's not always so easy. Look around yourself for ideas. Anything is something to write about. Everyone knows a little about a lot. Some know a lot about a little. What ever it is you know and live you can write about.

They say that freelance writers should write in as many ways as they can. This means to expand your horizons to others aspects of freelance writing. Some people make a good living ghost writing. Others make a thousand dollars an article for high paying magazines. Beginning writers have a great chance being accepted for the lower paying magazines which still pay quite well. (There's only a handful of magazines that pay that high, but some do.)

The way to write for a magazine is to seek out their guidelines. You can search one magazine at a time, or you could search hundreds. It is easier to find guidelines by not searching for specific magazine titles and names. Type "magazine guidelines" into your browser and lists of guideline databases will come up. There are several. When you use these databases you search by the genre. If your expertise is writing parenting pieces you select parenting and all of the magazines that need articles about parenting topics will come up. From there you read each magazines guidelines. Bookmark these pages as the more magazines you have to write for the more articles you can submit and the more you will earn.

When writing articles for magazines, or for anyplace, it is very important to follow the guidelines. Almost all rejections are because the guidelines are not followed. Another common reason for rejection is because the topic is too common. When you choose your topics it's important to put a unique spin on your idea. Be different from the rest. The more unique your article is the more likely it will be to earn you more money.

There are also job boards for writers. If you type job boards for writers, or writing jobs, you will have a list of job sites for freelance writers come up. Each of these websites will take you to places where people who need writers post job opportunities.

There are many ways that you can make more as a freelance writer. Above a just a few. The most important way of all to increase you writing income is to write as much as you possible can. Remember, anything and everything is something to write about. There are so many aspects of life that really the possibilities for articles are endless. Thanks for reading and take care!
