Write about interesting topics
If you write about something that nobody is interested in, then nobody is going to read your articles. Write about topics that people will search for and enjoy reading. For example: Current events, celebrity gossip, or my personal favorite--"how to" articles. Also, write about something that interests you. This will make for a much better written article and will get you more page views in the long run.
Join the Subscriber for Subscriber Thread
In the Associated Content forumns you can find the Subscriber for Subscriber thread. If you become a part of the thread, other users will subscribe to you in return for your subscription to them. This will get you a few extra page views, and also feedback and help from other content producers if you need it. The people are extremely friendly and a lot of them consider the people in this thread their second family.
SEO and Keyword Density
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. It is basically the tecnhique of using keywords to receive more views on your content. When you choose your keywords on Associated Content, think of what someone would search for if they were looking for an article such as yours. This article will explain keyword density to you. Basically, it is an indicator of the number of times the selected keyword appears in the article. Having between 3% to 5% keyword density for your article will get you the best ranking it can get on a search engine's search results. If you exceed 5% keyword density by a lot, your article will be rejected as spam, so try to avoid that.
Social Networking Sites
Some content producers use social networking sites such as Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, Squidoo, Blogger, or Digg to promote their articles, while some prefer not to. On the bottom of your Associated Content pieces there is a tab labeled "Share." Clicking on that tab will bring up a pop-up window which will lead you to links to websites such as these. Try to limit your time spent promoting on these sites as it will take away from your writing. Do not spam on these sites as it will likely get your account deleted.
Overall, I've found that combining a little bit of all of these techniques will work best. Writing a really decent article that you put your heart into, using SEO, promoting a little bit on a social networking site, and joining the Subscriber for Subscriber thread will get you the most page views for your time.
