How to Be More Positive in a Negative World

Sarah Rachel
Many of us have heard about the secret, or some of us may be wondering what the secret is. The secret is the concept that our thoughts become reality, and that everything we experience is a direct result of energy that we attracted to ourselves. They call this "The Law of Attraction." The book and DVD are both top sellers featuring the tools to make the secret work for you. Scientists have proven that our thoughts have energy so there must be some truth to this.

After watching the secret for myself the main thing I got out of it was that it's imperative to think more positive, that is if you want good things to happen. Thinking positive has been proven to help people get through cancer, change their perspectives, and thinking positive just makes you feel good. I know I feel so much better about myself and my life when I'm thinking positive regardless of the challenges I'm faced with.

The challenge that I was faced with was how I am going to think more positive when there are so many negative influences in my life. These negative influences come from TV, family, friends, and even strangers. There are even days when I feel bombarded with these pressures and then I end up getting upset and being negative myself. So I came up with strategies to help me stay on track to thinking more positive all the time. Hopefully this will help you also.

1). Cut out Negative thoughts- Every time a silly or negative thought comes into my mind I cut it out and replace it with a positive thought. I don't want to waste my energy on negative thoughts that just bring me down, and I'm sure you don't want to do that either. These thoughts can creep in when we least expect it so it's important to stay on the ball and keep track of what is going into your mind.

2). Surround yourself with positive happy people- Spend the most time with people who are positive. These people encourage, uplift and they just help you to feel good.

3). Treat others the way you want to be treated- Be kind and loving to your friends, family and even strangers, even if they are not always kind to you. Eventually your efforts will come back around to you and your influence will overwhelm them to be nicer also.

4). Always be thankful. Be content and thankful for what you have. There are always people in this would who have a lot less and they are thankful. Gratitude is very important.

5). Don't dwell on things. If negative things are happening in your life don't dwell on it too much. Re focus your energy on what you can change and don't spend your time worrying. Smile and be happy. Everyone has problems, but if you stew over them you can turn a little problem into something major.
