The first task that you must do is to sit down and make a list of what needs to be done. If it stuff that needs to be done today, or just a simple task that you need to do on a daily basis. Writing down even the small stuff is necessary because it will be easy to check off when it is completed and then you will see what you are actually accomplishing on a daily basis. You may feel like you never get anything done, but when you write it all down you will see that you do get stuff accomplished.
Second, you need to prioritize your list and see what needs to be done right away. I recommend getting the hard stuff done first, or the stuff that is less desirable to do. If you get the difficult things accomplished first, the remainder of your list will seem like a piece of cake. If you know what you need to get done first, you will also have more time to accomplish things that may not need to be done till later. And, if you get those items done, you will have a lot of free time left on your hands that you can do whatever you want to do.
Sometimes when you make a list of things to do, you realize you have more on your plate than you can handle. This would be the time that you may seek some help. Whether it be from and outside source or even a family member, just ask for help. I am sure you will find plenty of people who would be willing to help you catch up on some of your tasks so that you can catch up on your work. Then you will be able to accomplish all the other things with ease and feel much better.
Some of the simple things you should do to keep yourself more productive is to get a good nights rest and eat healthy foods. It sounds silly but it is true. You will have more energy to get the small things done and you feel much better about yourself. If you are tired, all you will want to do is sit around the house, or take a nap. Trust me, it's the story of my life. My children seem to be awake at all hours of the day and it makes it so hard to get anything done. You need your energy.
Using these simple items will help you become more productive in your day. If you make your list and set some priorities, you will get the things you need done and feel much better about yourself. If you are backed up with work, seek out a friend to help you catch up.
