Ways to Save a Failed Interview

An interview may be considered as being lost when you're late without announcing before and without giving an explanation, or when you fail to answer to all questions in a satisfactory manner during the interview. But it's still one more change to save your interview and get the job you want. Here are some tips in this regard:

1. Try to have a positive attitude

Smile! Use the body language to create a comfortable atmosphere: relax your shoulders and smile. This will help you to be more self confident.

2. Ask questions to the interviewer

In order to avoid give some evasive answers try to ask questions to the recruiter, giving him the change to explain you clearly what his expectations are. In this way you can give some answers related to the information required by the interviewer.

3. Provide answers that are short and to the point

If you don't understand a question and your answer is not related to the main point of the discussion, you jeopardize to bore the interviewer. In this case, it's indicated to ask for clarifications, in order to offer a more conclusive response. Avoid to prolong certain answers and to offer some information that are not relevant to the discussion.

4. Change his impression with a compliment

When the interviewer's dissatisfaction becomes obvious and the atmosphere becomes tensed, try to do something, compliment the recruiter! Like any other person, the interviewer also feels good when he's appreciated by others. Before the interview is good to inform yourself about the company where you want to work and mention some of its strengths. All these things will emphasize that you're a person with a positive attitude, who considers any detail and especially the fact that you are well prepared. Be careful not to exaggerate, your compliments must be strictly professional, not too many or too personal. It's recommended to make compliments that are related to the company.

5. Perhaps it's not your fault

If your presentation during the interview was a successful one and you think you've done everything possible to create yourself a good image, and the interviewer's attitude remains indifferent, don't be discouraged! Continue to show yourself and your skills in the same way. Maybe the interviewer has personal problem and just a bad day stops him to express the enthusiasm he should have when he meets a well prepared candidate.
