1. Supply and demand. Conduct market research, find out what people want and then supply them with it.
2. Find solutions to peoples problems.
3. Don't follow the herds and crowds, instead be a little bit different, and differentiate to provide what others are not yet providing.
4. Communicate with people that you know and meet, find out what they need and want.
5. Learn to analyse virtually any and every opportunity that comes your way, to see if there is anything positive that can come out of it - or that you can get out of it.
6. Invest in yourself. In a bad economy you might not feel much like investing in businesses or the stock market. BUT there is something that you can invest in and this is YOURSELF. By this I mean read more, learn more and develop yourself. Find ways you can make a bad economy work for you.
7. Be optimistic. A downturn, recession or credit crunch will not last forever so be optimistic and see the good in things, be it things you have now or things you could well have in the future.
8. Evaluate yourself. Are you missing something that could help you make the most out of this economy, perhaps a skill, talent etc.
9. Take your time, be cautious. If you have seen an opportunity or similar that interests you then please take your time, research it inside out and so on until you are certain that you are ready to make your move.
10. Remember that in everything (even bad things) there always lies opportunity, and remember to seize opportunities (once you have researched them and so on) as if you don't somebody else will.
11. Do a bit of trial and error, to find your niche how about doing a bit of trial and error to find out what works, what will work and perhaps what doesn't.
12. Look around you. Try to work out what is needed, what is lacking, what is necessary and what is needed.
TOP TIP: Remember to keep your eyes open and your ears to the ground, as you never know what opportunity you might miss if you don't.
