1. Carefully pick out a wedding photographer
Picking the right wedding photographer can mean the difference between high quality and sub standard wedding photos. Before you choose a wedding photographer, shop around and look into each wedding photographer's credentials. Ask to view sample photos from previous weddings they have attended.
2. Smile for the camera!
Smiling for the camera may seem to be obvious to people as they gather round in front of the photographer for their photos to be taken. But it is surprising how many people forget to smile on their big day! Arguments with family, guests or simply not getting enough sleep the night before the wedding day can put couples in a bad mood. This can easily show if the bride or groom do not smile for their pictures. Remember that this is a happy occasion. So turn off the scowls and brighten your day, as well as everyone else's by smiling for the camera.
3. Leave disposable cameras on tables for guests
When you arrive at the reception, check to make sure that each table each has a disposable camera on it so that family and guests of the newly married couple can take informal pictures. Then at the end of the day, collect the cameras. These informal photos can help boost to the amount of wedding photos you have and will make a wonderful addition to a wedding album. Photos taken from disposable cameras are often high quality photos, so do not be afraid of having "cheap" looking photos in your album.
4. Check your hair, teeth and make-up
It is important to make sure that you look your best in your wedding photos. So check your hair, teeth and make-up before the wedding photos are taken. Ask your spouse, bridesmaids, maid/matron of honour, friends and family members for their opinions too. Some photographers are kind enough to point out minor flaws that need to be adjusted, but not all do. So do not rely on the photographer to let you know of how you and your spouse look. After all, you will have to live with these photos for many years to come. That is why it is important to make sure you look your best in your wedding photos.
If you take the time to make sure that all the smaller details are taken care of, your wedding photos will present a radiantly happy couple and you will look just how you imagined you would in the photos.
