How Much Kate Gosselin is Too Much?

Will you be watching the season premiere of Dancing with the Stars on March 22, 2010? If you are like many other Americans, you probably will tune in to check out the new cast and decide which celebrities are your favorites. Even if that means nodding your head when all of your friends are in the room as Kate Gosselin enters the stage (while secretly enjoying every last minute of it).

Kate Gosselin rose to fame with her joint show with then-husband Jon Gosselin. Jon & Kate Plus 8 aired on TLC for five seasons and chronicled the life of the Gosselin couple plus their eight children (you can watch full episodes here: http://tlc.discovery.com/tv/jon-and-kate/episode-guide.html. When Jon and Kate's relationship fell apart amidst cheating scandals, so did their show. TLC fought with Jon over the rights and future of the popular television series and inevitably lost, thus canceling the show. Kate's very public reaction hit newsstands and was television gossip fodder for over a year while her personal life seemed to fall into shambles. Her hairstyle was reproduced around the world via Halloween wigs sold at Walmart, Target and Halloween Superstores and there was a time when you couldn't turn on the television without hearing something about Jon and Kate Gosselin.

It has now been announced that Kate Gosselin will be joining the cast of this season's Dancing with the Stars. ABC has released the following statement:

Reality television star Kate Gosselin, actress Shannen Doherty, "The Bachelor" star Jake Pavelka and Olympic figure skating gold medalist Evan Lysacek are among the stars who will show off their fancy footwork during the show's tenth season.

One new professional ballroom dancer, Damian Whitewood, joins the show this year. Whitewood will be paired with actress Pamela Anderson.

The pros will begin training their celebrity partners as the teams prepare to hit the dance floor on the "Dancing With the Stars" two-hour season premiere on Monday, March 22 at 8 p.m. ET.
