How Much Money Will I Spend on Makeup in My Lifetime

If you are a female it is assumed by most that you probably wear some sort of makeup. Even those of us who are low maintenance use some. And if you really don't use makeup I'm sure you use some sort of cleanser and moisturizer. I love makeup! I don't wear a lot of it, but I like to play around and experiment with it. I have a few things that I must have. Rarely do I leave the house without mascara. I just love it and it's simple and looks natural so that's one thing I almost never skip. I'm also a huge fan of lipgloss and quite often eyeliner.

I use Mary Kay makeup. My morning routine consists of a cleanser, moisturizer, day solution, eye cream, foundation, and then whatever else I feel like putting on that day. You add all of that up and it really isn't cheap. A tube of cleanser costs $18, but you can use it for months before you need to purchase another one. But add on all the other stuff and you very easily have about $400 worth of makeup in your bathroom at one time. This is stuff you use, not just junk lying around. This is why I became a Mary Kay consultant. I can now purchase my products at a discount which saves me a bit of money since I use so many items.

When I first heard someone make the comment about most women having about $400 worth of makeup in their bathrooms at any given time I thought they were way off. I went in to add up all I had and I could not believe how right on that number was. I was a little over that $400 mark. Now, I've not always been so big into makeup. I guess just in the past six years or so I've really been into all the extra stuff as far as makeup and skin care go. I've also not always had that much stuff in my bathroom, but if you figure $400 worth now and from here on out then that is a pretty large number. I'm not really sure I can put a total on it, but I know I'm not getting any younger so I'm sure that number will not go down ever!
