How to Use Natural Methods of Scar Removal

Nanette Haz
The longer that you live, the more opportunities you have to receive scars, blemishes, and discoloration. When we are outdoors we are exposed to the suns rays year round, as well as exposed to the cold temperatures in the winter. Do you routinely not wear any sunscreen or moisturizer? Here are a few ways to help you gradually fade your scars.

Dry Skin Brushing

Exercising your skin can help it to repair itself. Using a natural bristled brush and gently brushing the body can stimulate the skin to repair itself. The skin is the largest organ of the body. Dry skin brushing helps to cleanse your lymphatic system. When your lymphatic system is regularly stimulated you will see a difference in your skin.

Old scars that were once raised, will start to soften over time. If you stop dry skin brushing, you will see a change in the texture of your skin. Dry skin brushing is just like aerobic and strength training exercise for your body. You must keep up with it, to see and maintain the best results. Start at the soles of your feet, and gradually work your way up to your heart. Pay special attention to any areas of your body with stretch marks, uneven skin tone, and scars.

Topical Treatments

Mederma is available at your local drug store and does not require a prescription. The active ingredient in this cream is onion extract. This cream is available in a full strength version, and a special variety of children. You can also use petroleum jelly, honey, unprocessed shea butter, or aloe vera to keep the scar moist.

Eat foods and take supplements that stimulate collagen growth. Good choices are green tea, wheat germ, eggs, blue berries, salmon, beans, pigs feet, and chicken feet soup. Purchase high quality copper peptides with hydroxy acids. Ex-foliate your skin first with the salicylic acid product, then use the copper peptide on your skin. These products are sold by a company called Skin-biology. You can produce the same results on your own, by finding comparable products in your drug store.

Take time to focus on natural ways to improve the appearance of your scar. In extreme cases see your dermatologist or plastic surgeon for help and their professional opinion. Take pictures of your scar each month, to see how your scar is healing. Use these tips to help gradually face and remove scars.
