How to Not Make Chef Gordon Ramsey Mad

Tips You Plan to Be a Contestant on One of His Shows

Karen Barnes
There are 11 things I have noticed watching any of the shows Chef Gordon Ramsey has that he hates for people to do. There have been things he has told people not to do more than once, but they never listen.

Never lie to Ramsey. He hates when people lie to him during a service on "Hell's Kitchen." He hates when you lie about how good you are when you're dishes aren't cashing in on the checks your ego writes. One contestant did that on "MasterChef."

Not owning up to your mistakes. Gordon Ramsey hates when people don't own up to their mistakes. He goes postal when people have not owned up to their mistakes on "Kitchen Nightmares," "MasterChef," and "Hell's Kitchen."

Giving up. Next to lying to him, giving up or throwing in the towel is another thing that pisses him off. He wants to see people fight for what they want and believe in when it comes to food, winning one of the competitions or keeping their business going.

Don't point your finger at him. Elise found out the hard way when she pointed her tongs at him during a dinner service on "Hell's Kitchen." Chef Ramsey called her over in front everyone and gave her a tongue lashing like no other.

Don't interrupt him. Under no certain terms are you to ever interrupt him while he is talking. This includes calling out orders to the cooks, explaining what you did wrong, and never, ever interrupt while he's on a tirade. If you do, interrupting will only cause a further beat down.

Don't mock him. Steven is one of the few contestants on "Hell's Kitchen" who made the mistake of mocking Gordon Ramsey within earshot of the chef. A foot to the rear end would have been better than getting ripped for stupidity.

Never serve raw food when it's supposed to be cooked. Serving raw food has been the biggest blood curdling thing any cook on any of his shows have ever done. Ramsey gets so ticked he throws the dishes across the kitchen, dining room or where ever they are when he or customers are served raw or undercooked dishes.

Don't serve your worst and ugliest dish. Serving your worst and ugliest dish is something else that sets his temper ablaze. Chef Gordon Ramsey will cuss you out far worse than any sailor when he tastes a horrible dish. When contestants and restaurant owners have served him some of the ugliest dishes, he picks it apart and throws it like a two-year old being served something they didn't want to eat.

Don't add ingredients to dishes that don't belong in them. In this season of "MasterChef," more than one has added ingredients to their dishes that don't belong. One added garlic, another added raw flour, and another didn't follow the recipe. All were beat down by Ramsey and the other two chefs on the show for their stupidity.

Don't have an attitude. The attitude of cooks and chefs in this season of "MasterChef" and "Hell's Kitchen" have been beyond over the top. They fight with and cuss out Gordon Ramsey and each other as if they have no filters or can't check their attitudes and egos at the door. Some have gone as far as to have a major attitude with Ramey's souse chefs. Those who go that far find themselves being beat up and whipped just as bad by his souse chefs as they have been by Chef Ramsey.

Don't be a blow hard. Being a blow hard is different from having an ego or an attitude. In this case, it's when anyone on the shows I have mentioned previously tries to blow smoke up Ramsey's butt.
