1. Go to Class- This is the biggest key to success. Don't sleep through class because you have a hangover. Get up and get to class. If necessary, don't party too hard the night before. Class is a great way to actually get the concepts down. Some things that will be on your test could have been things that were only mentioned in lectures. You also need to go to class in order to turn in homework, and sometimes take quizez.6
2. Do your homework- It is not called busywork for a reason. Homework is designed so that you will learn the concepts that you are expected to know. If you don't do the homework, how can you expect to know the material? If you do your homework and go to class you are well on your way to making it through college.
3. Don't party too hard- As I said earlier, college is a great time. However the main purpose of college is to prepare you for the working world. Your main focus should be school work. Get your homework done, and then go to college. If you have an exam, study, don't go out and party. That said; it is still ok to party. Just learn your balance between school and partying.
4. Study- Exams aren't meant to be easy. In order to do decent on them you are going to have to put at least some studying in. Don't try to cram it all at the end either. I would start at least a few days before the exam brushing up a little. Then the day before study for at least several hours.
Always remember that in general you are supposed to be putting in 2-3 hours of homework/studying a week for every hour of class you have. If you study and go to class all day and on the weekends study, there is no reason why you will not be able to go out Friday and Saturday night.
