How to Use Old CD Holders in a New Way

Triple Storage Space by Using Drawers Separately

Megan Myers
Got one of those CD holders with the drawers in front and found it didn't get much use because it had to sit at eye level to easily open the drawers and see the CDs? Here's a new way to use that contraption.

1. Remove the drawers

2. Measure the openings where the drawers were.

3. Find some small boxes that will fit in the openings (recipe boxes usually fit). If you don't have any small boxes, take a CD along when you go shopping and find a box that the CD will fit inside. CDs generally tend to be 4.25" in diameter.

4. Place loose CDs (ones without hard covers) in the boxes.

5. Place the boxes in the drawer openings.

6. Use the drawers outside of the CD holder to hold your CDs with hard covers.

7. I used old recipe boxes that had damaged lids, removed the lids, and covered with decorative paper.

That's it. CD storage space is now tripled.
