How To Have An Online Careers And Still Pay the Bills

Jacob Malewitz
Being that I've worked for pay both online and in the real world, this article will detail my experiences in this bursting field of online careers. I will list some of the better avenues for careers online, though no list can detail them all. I hope it to be a general guide to working from your home.

There are many advantages to working from your home. Foremost is the fact that you can be closer to you family. You can also save money on things like gas and eating out. It isn't always a field to get high-pay in, but generally the market for online workers is easier to get into than many other fields. Most of these careers will require no degrees, so going back to school isn't a must. Take your pick, and good luck!

Freelance writing

This is the career I have chosen, even though I still plan to work in brick-and-mortar establishments. Writing articles for pay online is a growing field. Many sites have submission tools that make it easier for the writer. Take Guideposts and Glimmer Train, both are markets for writers and the entire submission process can be done online. You won't need to invest in a new printer and figure out letterhead here, it's all taken care of for you. Freelance writing online is the place to get your first sales. Associated Content has changed the scope of my career, as I write many articles every day for decent pay. Again, the whole process is online, even payment.

Ebay

Have an interest in books, rare coins, movies, or cars? Are you an expert on a particular field? Ebay provides a venue for collectors and sellers alike to profit. This can be one of the more profitable careers if done right. I never sold solely on Ebay, but I have made a healthy profit on many an auction. All you really need is some startup capital or a collection of something that you can turn a profit from. A digital camera is a good investment, too.

About

This could be in freelance writing, as About is for aspiring writers too. This is one of the better run information sites online. It also features top pay for contributors. You can actually make a living writing for About, as the pay can end that credit card debt. If you're an expert in any field, check on the job listings on About as often as you can. Many times something you have experience in, whether it be cars or science fiction novels, will need a guide.

Webmaster

The field of being a webmaster can be hard and easy. It's easy to learn the basics, but harder to turn a profit than any other field listed here. I have yet to turn a major profit off any of my sites, but it can be done. Most major businesses want a website and need both writers for it and webmasters. Being able to do both is the best option. You might consider taking a class in this. The first step would be to get your own domain and come up with a popular topic, whether it be Britney Spears or movie reviews. Then you will have to wait and continue to work into the void. I have heard of thousands of dollars being made, and pennies. You can profit here, but it takes patience. Having a side career, like selling on Ebay, could lead into a popular website. You could showcase your auctions on the website to get them exposure. Money can be made using Amazon links as well; this is where the majority of my money has been made instead of in regular advertising.

  • The easiest way to make money is to sell your valuables on Ebay.
  • Check the About.com site often to see what guides they need.
  • Freelance writing can be the most enjoyable career here.
I've made most of my money as a webmaster from Amazon links, but this is still only a few dollars.
