There are a lot of companies looking for views and opinions about their products. Therefore, they hire a survey company who specializes in surveys and recruits people who want to give their opinion. Sometimes it's a new product they want opinions about and other times it may be an old product they are looking to improve and need consumer opinions. Sometimes it's a product they haven't even released to the public yet and want to know what people think about it before they release it.
In return for taking the time and answering the questions and giving your opinion, they are willing to give you rewards and sometimes even send you a test product to try. Each survey company is different regarding the rewards you receive. Rewards can range from cash, gift cards, Pay Pal funds, e-certificates, points that are redeemable for other prizes or just an entry into a sweepstakes.
At the beginning of each survey there are usually the standard questions such as your age, sex, marital status, how many children you have, etc. The purpose of these questions is to target a specific group so they can get the best results for the product they want evaluated. For example, if a company is looking for views and opinions on baby wipes, a 48-year-old single male with no kids is probably not going to have much feedback to give them. For this reason, sometimes you might find after answering a few questions you will be told you don't qualify for that survey because you don't fit the target group they are looking for.
A targeted group is another reason why it's important to answer your surveys as soon as you can. Most of the time, the companies are only looking for a certain number of people in the targeted group to answer the survey. Once this number fills up - the survey is closed. However, the great thing about surveys is that you can do them whenever you want - they will always be there. You're not going to be penalized if you get busy and miss some surveys.
Another thing to remember is, you should not have to pay to join any survey sites or receive a list of surveys. If companies ask you for money or you have to pay anything - it's a scam.
In addition, the more survey sites you sign up with, the more you will receive. Thus resulting in more rewards.
