How to Make Opening Folders on Your Computer Faster

Have you ever noticed when you try to open up a directory like my computer how it takes a few seconds to open with some kind of delay? I don't know about you but I hate waiting for something especially when this feature basically doesn't help me out at all. Well this is caused by a default setting which checks for network files and printers which is useless to have since is slows you down. This little trick is really easy to do any can give you the extra boost in speed that you want your computer to have just by following a few easy steps. This next trick will show you how to greatly increase your speeds when browsing though folders and directories. It can become a hassle when your searching through your files only to have to wait a few more secs while it searches for network files and printers so I recommend you turn this feature off now for optimal performance. Don't be scared if your going to mess up your computer cause disabling this feature won't cause any critical damage or anything like that to your system. If for some reason you want to enable it back up just follow the same steps and check the box to enable this feature. Before you begin just in case you want to go back to your previous settings create a system restore point and when your ready let's begin.

1.)First, click on the start button then go to and click on the control panel

2.)Next, double click on an icon in this new window called folder options

3.)When that window appears click on the view tab

4.)Now look for a text that says "automatically search for network folders and printers" and uncheck it

5.)Now click apply and then ok

6.)Finally, restart you computer and your finished

From now on your computer will ignore searching for network folders and printers and will automatically open the window, which in this case is "my computer" without any delay. This works great as it's extremely easy to do so searching through your files will be a breeze.
