Trying to figure out what to wear to the office tomorrow? The adage "Dress to impress" doesn't mean just wearing a dress shirt, dress pants and some shoes. How you dress projects an image, and a successful image means dressing a notch above other business professionals. Truly successful business people know that it's all about image, and nothing beats a custom-made suit that fits you well. In this men's fashion and business dress guide, we'll show you how to order a custom-made suit.

Men's Business Fashion and Style Guide: How to Order a Custom-Made Suit

1. Get measured for a custom suit by a tailor. Custom tailoring, otherwise known as "bespoke," means a tailor will take specific measurements to craft a suit that fits you exactly. Nothing looks sharper and more professional in a business setting than a suit that fits you well!

2. Keep an eye for custom suit quality. Custom-made suits are known to have certain qualities, such as handmade stitches and lining, and buttonholes on the sleeve. All of these suit qualities tells everyone that you're wearing a custom suit and mean business!

3. Chose your custom suit style. Single or double breasted jackets? Two or three piece suits? The tailor will ask you questions about your personal style to design and sew a custom business suit that fits not just your body, but also your lifestyle. You'll also need to choose single or double vents (the slit in the back of the custom suit jacket), peaked or notched lapels (the notch in the suit "collar"), and how your shoulders are padded-natural or padded?

4. Choose the perfect fit for your custom fit. Your suit tailor will measure you to make sure the suit fits. Pay attention to the following details for the perfect custom suit fit: In the custom suit jacket, make sure the length fits, the collar fits, the lapels fit, and the sleeves fit in length with your dress shirts. In the custom suit pants and trousers, watch for the right length and the right pants "break."

How Do You Know if the Custom Suit Fits Well?

Custom made suits are more expensive than off-the-rack suits. Bespoke suits are fully customized for the suit wearer. Made-to-measure suits are altered from a standard suit pattern. Off-the-rack suits are bought off the store rack and altered (or not), and are often the cheapest. What you want is a custom-made bespoke suit that speaks quality, professionalism and business!
