How to Organize Your Closet when You Hate Organizing

Kristi Patrice Carter
Your closets are a jumbled mess and you know you have to do something if you ever plan on finding all of your clothing again - but you HATE organizing. Don't worry! There are a few different tricks you can use that might make organizing your closets a bit easier and a lot more fun.

Get Your Girlfriends' or Buddies' to Help

We all have one or two friends that we absolutely hate because they're always so organized and 'together.' It's time to call on that friend - and all of your others. Have a 'closet organizing' party and have your friends help you get your closet together in exchange for some great snacks, drinks and an evening of hilarity between friends. That friend who is always so organized will probably be in seventh heaven helping you determine which section should be for party clothes and where to put your jeans!

Dangle Rewards in Front of Your Own Face

Promise yourself some rewards if you get your closet organized, and stick with it. For instance, if you have it organized and done in two days, you can purchase the new outfit you've been wanting - shoes included. If you get it done in four days, you can get the outfit, but no shoes. If it takes you a week to get the closet organized, you can choose a new blouse or skirt. Motivation like shopping is a great way to get you moving and to get that closet organized.

Purchase New Elements

If there is one thing that can really get someone motivated to clean and organize, its new stuff. For instance, have you ever purchased new living room curtains and then ended up cleaning the whole living room to see how great they looked? Use this with your closets. Purchase cute wicker bins to put things in, a great new shoe organizer and perhaps some scented hangers. Small things like this can really get you motivated to work and make the best of your closet.

Hire Someone to Assist You

When all else fails, and you really don't want to organize your closets, hire someone else to do it for you. There are house-cleaning services all over the place that would be glad to take your money and organize your closet for you. Just make sure you check references and ensure that you're hiring legitimate workers.

These four ways are great ideas to help you get your closets clean and organized. Use these tips and in no time, your closet will be spic and span.
