How to Organize a Group Trip

Jordan Smith
You have been working very hard and now you are ready to take a vacation, but you do not want to go alone. Organizing a group trip can be very disastrous if everything is not thought out and planned properly.

The very first thing to do when organizing a group trip is to decide where you and your group would like to go? You would need to determine if you are going to stay in the United States or if you are going to travel abroad? If you and your group have decided to travel abroad you will need to make sure that you apply for passports and visas. There has been a recent change in this procedure, so this should be done as soon as possible.

Decide how many people will be traveling together? This will determine how much each person will pay and if you will qualify for a group rate discount?
You will also need to decide how long you and your party will be staying? The next thing you will need to decide is how you will travel: land, sea or air? Making sure that everyone agrees on the type of transportation. If you travel by land or air you will need to discuss your lodging, if you will stay in a hotel or if you will rent a house or a condo? This also plays a factor on your finances.

If you are traveling to a foreign country and you have not been there before, I would suggest that you select someone to do some research on the Internet regarding the culture, food, lodging, shopping etc. so that the group will be prepared when they arrive. Make sure to meet with the group and share all the information that has been gathered. Have a group discussion so that anyone who has questions, concerns or feedback can have them addressed before the trip.

If there is more than one attraction to see, you would need to have an agenda of your daily activities. What you would like to see today, tomorrow and so on.
Remember to schedule rest time for older members and allot nap time for younger children. Also carry some board games and other items to help keep younger children calm and occupied.

As long as you have the basics thought out you will be fine. Make sure to pack everything that you need including medication and any other important items you may need.

Have a great time.
