Here are 10 tips on how to organize a great Neighborhood Christmas Tree trimming party.
1. Choose a location for the tree trimming party. If your neighborhood has a community center or a church that will house a Christmas tree, ask if you and your neighbors can have a party and decorate the tree.
2. Purchase a live or artificial tree. Depending on your preference and price range, choose a live or artificial Christmas tree to decorate.
3. Look for discount decorations. Since this isn't your own personal tree, you may want to choose some discount decorations for the public display. This isn't a tree to hang your own personalized memento ornaments. Save those for your home tree. Ask your neighbors to purchase a box of ornaments or some tinsel so that it is a community project.
4. Make ornaments. Consider making your own ornaments- before or during the event- depending on how much time you have. You'll be surprised at how creative you and your neighbors can be.
5. Notify your neighbors in a fun way. Get your neighbors excited and ready to participate in a neighborhood Christmas tree trimming party. Hand out fun, whimsical invitations with a Christmas tree on it. Inside detail the information of the event.
6. Have goodies on hand. Decorating a Christmas tree can be a lot of hard work, so have a lot of goodies available for those that come to the neighborhood Christmas tree trimming party. Hot chocolate, sweet treats and a couple food dishes would be ideal.
7. Include kids in the event. Let the younger children in the neighborhood have a part in decorating the tree. They can work on the lower part of the tree or assist the adults by handing them the ornaments for hanging.
8. Make a contest out of it. Have a friendly competition to encourage your neighbors to show off their tree decorating skills. Whoever comes up with the best concept for the tree before you begin- wins.
9. Sing Christmas carols. You don't have to be a songstress to sing holiday songs. Play Christmas music during the neighborhood tree trimming party and enjoy.
10. Take lots of pictures. You'll want to take lots of pictures of the event to have for memories. It'll also remind your neighbors of all the fun you had so they'll want to do it the next year. Perhaps it will become an annual tradition.

Post a CommentThis is a good idea for any group, neighborhood or otherwise. And if you decorate a tree that someone else would normally have to do, it might be an act of kindness/service, as well.
You covered this very well! Sounds like a ton of fun!
