There are plenty of unique and original ways to remind your significant other that you love them. When they receive a gift that is unlike anything they expected, they'll perceive you as someone who cares a great deal for them because you put some thought into what you believe they deserved. Your gift doesn't always have to be breathtaking but I think that it is important that you don't settle for chocolate candy and flowers. In the following paragraphs, I would like to give up some good ideas I have for this Valentine's Day of 2007.
The first thing I would advise is trying to get your other half a different bouquet of flowers. Roses are good but everybody expects roses around this time. Try getting some tulips, lilies, or any other type of beautiful flower. A lot of the other types of flowers are also cheaper and more plentiful. Ask your local florist for other good choices and look around to see what you like. Try to step outside the crowd and do something different for a change.
You probably could try buying other types of candy unless you know that your partner loves chocolate. You could probably purchase or make an alluring basket of different fruits. Fill the basket with fruits like grapes, strawberries, and star fruit just to name a few. Whether you use common or exotic fruits is up to you to decide. I'd advise edibles like fruit because they're just as sweet as candy is while being an extremely healthy alternative. Another added perk if you're a male is that you'll save a lot of time listening to your girlfriend call herself fat because she just gorged on a mountain of chocolates.
This year I was thinking about preparing a nice tasty dinner for my girlfriend and I think all you guys and gals should get on that for this year as well. There are millions of possibilities and I guarantee it will probably be well appreciated, especially if it is unlike you to create a nice meal for your sweetheart. I personally cannot cook to save my life but I figure why not try? Even if you completely bomb the meal, they should understand and embrace you. My personal tip is to purposely mess the meal up, pretend like you put all your hard work into it, allow your partner to embrace you with love for trying, then go out to a nice restaurant. Okay bad idea but it sounds like it would work. That's my failsafe if I don't exactly concoct a delicacy.
I'm not one to splurge on Valentine's Day because I believe that is a day to show how much you love the person emotionally but not by amounts of monetary value. I usually save bigger gifts for times like Christmas and birthdays. I mean, some of the reason why I wouldn't empty my pocket on such a day is because my pocket is near empty to begin with but that's beside the point. I believe Valentine's Day is the day to show how much you love the person in a big way but with the least amount of money possible. It challenges my creativity and I like the idea of my partner having no idea what I would get her because it couldn't be bought in any store. If you want to spend a lot of money on gifts then that's just swell. People who don't spend much money on this day aren't cheap (well I hope not). I like to think of it as being creative conservationists.
Every year, it would probably be a good idea to become a better valentine. You are giving your partner stronger a reason to love you and this is the day to make those feelings stick. If the day goes well, you'll probably be bragged about to your valentine's friends and co-workers. Hopefully if you've made a couple of mistakes prior to Valentine's Day, these exact same people will become reminders to your good actions. As this wonderfully love filled day veers towards the end, it is then time to remove the bubbly from your winery, retrieve the Notebook from your DVD collection, and cry together. Oh yeah, and of course, engage in love making.
