So, it finally happened. You and your significant other have called it quits. Regardless of who got dumped or disregarded it is not an easy change and one should schedule out a plan to do it effectively. The key is to have several distractions. You need to really get focused on old hobbies or getting a new one. During this time you may want to pour your heart into your career or anything that will keep your mind off of your heart ache. You are basically letting go of a routine or a habit. Someone you see every day will no longer be there. Making dinner for your love is no longer an option so now you have to make dinner for yourself and sleep alone. This is not always a bad thing.
Break ups often warrant new things in your life. There have been tales of people who made drastic changes in their lives due to break ups. People have moved out of the country, started businesses or took up painting to ease their sadness all the while creating a new venture. I have had a few breakups in my life and I must say that my family and friends really helped me get through it. I also took up painting and used art to heal my heartache. The experience was very rewarding and I still paint to this day. But, one heart break experience was so unbearable that I actually packed up and moved 8 hours away. I had always dreamed of moving to New York and I was so upset that I fulfilled that dream and enjoyed living in New York for several years.
I think the key to healing from a heartbreak is to focus on yourself and your success. Relationships can often cause us to think about the other person more than ourselves which can leave to unfulfilled dreams and resentment. Here are some tips for you:
-Go on vacation
-Take up a hobby (fishing, painting, yoga)
-Move to another city, country or continent
-Start a business you are passionate about
I firmly believe that adversity and problems are a sign from God or whoever you decide to believe in. It's a sign for change. If something is going wrong in your life change may be key and necessary. So, you were dumped or you had to dump someone due to irreconcilable differences. It happens every day and keep in mind no one has ever died of a broken heart. Take what you have left and build something new and powerful because before you know it there will be a new person in your life to distract you.
