How to Overcome Pride and Vanity

If you are attractive and you have many admirers, you might be too proud of yourself and obviously, too vain. You may even think that anyone that is as nice as you are, would be vain like you, and you rationalise your vanity in a very logical way, but I'm writing this article exactly in order to protect you, and inform you that vanity is pure craziness.

It becomes worse when you believe that you are admired and desired by another person, but you are wrong: the other person doesn't care for you. This is really unbearable for you...

If you are used to always being desired and fought over by your admirers, you are not going to believe that a woman or a man that you like, doesn't like you!

You are going to assume that they like you of course, even if they are cold and they don't show you anything that could be interpreted as a desire. You are going to believe that they are hiding their real feelings that, of course, they do care for you.

You are not going to accept being rejected by him or her, first of all. This matter will be a challenge.

You are going to show him or her that you know very well the game, and play with them, showing them that you know very well that they want you too, despite their attempts to hide their feelings for you.

However, you may end up playing alone...

You may be attractive, rich, intelligent, everything that a man or a woman could desire from the opposite sex, but not desirable for a certain person.

There are people in this world that don't like your type.

Yes, people have preferences...

You may be more than handsome or beautiful, but there are women or men that prefer people with less perfect facial characteristics, so that they may seem real for example. If you are too beautiful or handsome, you may look like a doll, a movie star, someone that is not a daily companion...

Or you may be very intelligent and rich, but the other person doesn't care for your intelligence and your money and they may not even pay attention to your beauty... Why? Because they are not looking for anyone, they prefer brunettes, they don't like cultured types, they like to be free, etc.

There are billions of reasons why someone may not feel attracted at all to a type that usually attracts the opposite sex with ease.

If however you are this very attractive type and you want very much the person that despises you, then things become very complicated for you, because you enter into a field that has nothing to do with romance: this is the beginning of a serious neurosis.

You are going to waste all your energy trying to conquer, possess and dominate the person that you desire but who despises you, while this person is only going to continue despising you despite all your attempts, since they are not interested in you.

Then, what is going to happen to you?

You are going to be a slave to the wild side of your psyche, that will take advantage of the situation and imprison you in the labyrinth of craziness.

In the beginning everything is not as absurd as it becomes when your neurosis is turned into psychosis. This is why I'm warning you!

Vanity is stupidity and absurdity, because your self-admiration doesn't let you see your defects and because it makes you believe that you are a king or a queen that everyone must adore.

Be realistic and accept human nature, without imposing your desires on anyone.

Accept rejection with dignity and humility, because you have no other choice.

If you can't be humble and if you don't respect the other person's preferences, then you will end up accepting to be a slave of craziness for life.
