This attitude is reprehensible when you are indifferent to someone else's pain, and harmful when you are indifferent to your mistakes, to the pain you cause others, or when you are indifferent to tragic situations. However it has a positive side if you try to be happy even though you are suffering from being a victim of somebody else's wickedness. In this particular case, your attempt to feel happy, even though you are an innocent victim, is on the right path. It is good because it means you are trying to help yourself and you aren't focusing on your pain.
You can use this technique to gather the courage to go on, and stop feeling like a poor victim. When someone does something horrible to you, remember that you will feel grateful because you survived this experience; you are not dead. At least you are alive; your enemies didn't kill you.
Consider them very bad people with serious psychological problems and have pity on them because they are disgusting; they don't respect you and your rights as a human being. Unfortunately you have to bear the existence of such creatures; they are part of the animal realm of our planet.
On the other hand, they are your brothers and sisters, because you are an animal too. You are not perfect... Be tolerant. Forgive all sinners because they are dirty and weak. Try to uphold your integrity and stay strong if you want to be different, but don't expect others to follow you.
Believe in a better future, though.
Today you are suffering, but tomorrow you will triumph and forget this sad and insignificant day, and care only for your road to happiness, the purpose of your life.
But is happiness what gives your life meaning?
No, this is only what you want and what you believe. However, you don't live in order to be happy, otherwise you would live in a paradise and not on a planet that is as hostile and dangerous as Earth. Don't you think? Your purpose is to be happy, but this constant desire doesn't give a meaning to your life. Your life has a meaning by itself, independently of your opinion.
You live because you have to pass through a process of transformation, you have to learn a lot and do many things. You don't live in order to hang out on the beach all day. So, if you want to be happy even when things are very bad, think about this purpose: you must be transformed. This is the main reason for your suffering in life. Tomorrow you will adapt to the situation and find solutions that you cannot see today.
One important fact may completely change the outcome of everything!
Be happy because you will have the chance to feel better in the future - unlike your enemies who will have to face the consequences of their mistakes tomorrow, and whose conscience is as heavy as a stone, while yours is light and wise, because you are not the murderer - you are only a victim.
Primarily, feel happy because you are just a victim, you are not the murderer.
