This method of music goes back hundreds of years, where various tribes would use drums and other instruments to create music that seemed to draw the listeners into a trance or particular state of mind.
If you're interested in creating your own binaural beats audio file, you can do this with a personal computer and a little bit of research. Whether or not the file works as you intend will depend on you - the files you create will be entirely at your own risk for use.
If you want to create the files, there are two methods to go about it. One method is free, and the other is commercial. This method will detail the commercial method, simply because it is easier and requires less technical knowledge. If you want to do a free method, download Audacity and plane frequency files, and mix them in the program in whatever way you would like.
Items Needed:
Brainwave Generator
PC
Step 1: You need to download a program called Brainwave Generator, usually nicknamed BWgen. This program has a trail version for your to use. Install it to your computer.
Step 2: Read up on what each frequency does for in regard to brain frequencies. You can find various lists online with a simple search. There are four frequencies you need to research: Theta, Alpha, Beta, and Delta.
Step 3: Once you have an idea of what each frequency is, you need to get an idea of what kind of file you would like to make. For example, do you want a file that makes you feel tired, energetic, etc? This will let you determine the best type of frequencies for what you want to do.
Step 4: Start the program up and choose to create a new session. You will be presented with a blank audio line. You will need to choose the frequency you want, and then click within the timeline to place a marker. You can lower it to make it quieter. After you place a marker, you can change the frequency to something else, and click to place a new marker.
It is generally recommended to make the first five minutes of your session in the Delta or Theta stage, to help the listener relax and make it easier for the other frequencies to work.
Step 5: If you're having trouble getting started yourself, the best thing to do is download a present from the website and load it into the program. This will allow you to see how the session is set up, and allow you to modify it yourself. This is a good way to learn.
Step 6: Once you have the session created, export it. You can export it to mp3, but make sure you compress each stereo sound on its own, then combine them, or else the file will not work. Exporting to WAV is ideal, and can be done directly in the program by clicking File>Export.
