Butterflies are wonderful to watch and there are many flowers that will attract more butterflies in your garden and yard. There are many types of flowers that you can plant that will attract them. Now is the time of year that you will want to plan your plants and flowers for your butterfly garden. Here are some common flowers that you can plant in your new butterfly garden. Don't be surprised if your garden will also attract many humming birds to the area. You can increase your chances of seeing humming birds if you get a humming bird feeder and keep it filled with nectar for them. This also seems to attract the butterflies to the humming bird feeder.

Here are some great flowers and flowery plants to plant in your butterfly garden. Black eye Susan flowers will not only look great in your garden, these yellow flowers will brighten up any garden and also bring the butterflies to visit frequently. Another great flower is the Aster which is a pretty purplish flower that has a yellow center and will look great in a garden these kind resemble a daisy only more colorful. The Daisy is a great flower that will be a great way to brighten up your butterfly garden. You may want to include the Goldenrod which is a yellowish flower that is cute and will provide coverage for your garden.

Daylilies should be included in your garden and these come in different varieties that will attract the butterflies. Marigold the scent that the marigold gives off is enough to attract many butterflies the fragrance of this flower will make your garden smell great. Another great smelling flower is the Lilac it is a great flowery bush to plant that will also give off a great fragrance that will attract your butterflies. One more flower to consider planting is the Sweet pea. These flowers are great to use in your butterfly garden. Using these plants and flowers will not only attract butterflies but will also attract many birds. You may want to also add several bird baths around your butterfly gardens, also ponds and water will attract more butterflies.

To get the best response from your butterfly garden build it in a sunny location if you can, and include many different types of plants and flowers to attract the most butterflies. Consider building it in a place that you can sit and enjoy your new show that nature will provide you with the butterflies and humming birds that will be visiting often.
