Jasmine Starr

Couponing is becoming the hit thing these days. Not only do the coupons save you a ton of money, but it can be addicting from the rush you get while doing it. If you are just getting started with couponing, you will need to get yourself a binder and organize your coupons. There is nothing worse than going in a store to use your coupons and you can't find the one you are looking for. That is why you need to have them in a binder and well organized. In this guide, I am going to show you how to make a binder for your coupons and organize them so that you can manage the coupons easier.

What You Will Need to Get Started

There are a few things that you will need to get started. Having these things will make it a lot easier on you as far as keeping coupons organized and making your trips to the store. So, go out and purchase the things below before you get started with building your coupon binder.

  • Trapper Keeper (Get one that zips up, they are usually $15 - $25, but worth it)
  • Pack or Two of Plastic Baseball Card Holders
  • Pencil Pouch (Get the one that has holes in it so you can put it in your binder)
  • Tabbed Dividers (You will need at least 5 of these)
  • Pencils
  • Pens
  • Calculator
  • Couple of Pairs of Scissors
  • Permanent Marker

Putting Your Coupon Binder Together & Organizing It

Now you are ready to put your binder together. So, let's get started. The first thing you will want to do is label the tabbed dividers you bought. You can label them by categories. The categories will be up to you of course. You could do categories like dairy, frozen entrees, bathroom products, and so on. You can have as many categories as you want. I always say, the more categories, the better because you can find them easier. So, go ahead and label all of your dividers and then we will move on.

Next, you will need to put the tabbed dividers in your binder. Then separate your baseball card plastic holders and put them behind the different tabbed dividers. Then you can start arranging your coupons in the holders. Organize them the way you have set up your dividers.

Put the pencil pouch in the front of the binder, right before your first tabbed divider. In your pencil pouch, you can put your pencils, pens, scissors and calculator. That way when you need them, they will be right there.

So, there you have it. Have fun couponing!
