Candle with wick
Matches or cigarette lighter
Plastic writing pen
Game system (NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, Xbox...)
Optional safety equipment:
Gloves to protect your hands.
Fire extinguisher to put out unwanted fire.
Caution:
Fire is hot! Melting plastic is hot! This can burn your skin.
Steps for assembly:
Disassemble your pen. You need only the plastic rod, no other pieces. Light the candle. Put the pen tip in the flame. Let the plastic begin to soften. Once the pen looks like it's melting and bendable, place the pen over one of the screws on your game system. Push firmly. Now, let the pen cool down and allow the plastic to take shape. Once the plastic has hardened, you have a screwdriver that's a perfect fit for your screws!
Troubleshooting:
If it didn't work the first time, simply try again. Pens are cheap!
If your gamebit didn't take shape, then you need to heat the pen longer.
If you broke your pen, simply get another one.
Extras:
You can make a handle for your gamebit and extend its length.
You can fill the empty rod body of your pen to make your gamebit stronger.

Post a Commentdude thats awesome. i just tried it and it worked. im unscrewing all the n64 screws right now to get it ready for painting. ur a savior dude. saved me like 5 bucks from having to buy a gamebit.
great tutorial. i found it very enlightening and informal. it is certainly an alternative to purchasing these gamebits from newelectronx.com or any other retailer who sells gamebits. one note i would like to add is that you should try to make your game bits look like this:
