If you are having a hard time finding gifts for some of the people on your gift list, you may want to consider making gift baskets. It is fairly simple to make a gift basket for even the most difficult person on your list and you can customize it to their interests while showing you took the time to give a personal gift.

For adults it is merely a matter of finding a few appropriate gifts and finding or making an appropriate container. Baskets can be great containers, but you can also use flower pots, large mugs, ice buckets, tool cases, or you can make your own container. A sturdy box or plastic container from the food storage or organizer section of any large store can be decorated with seasonal fabric or paper and turned into a perfect container.

When it comes to filling the gift "basket" the possibilities are nearly endless. For women lotions or spa items are great or gardening or sewing or anything that is hobby related. For men golf balls and tees, fishing tackle, a duck call, or again any hobby related items. Some other hobby themed baskets are cooking, baking, grilling, or handyman. Some great all purpose fillers are candy, nuts, coffee, tea, hot chocolate mix, or liquor or wine.

To finish decorating a basket a few yards of ribbon or garland are great. For a interesting decoration for a basket for a man a few inexpensive ties work great. The finished basket can then be wrapped in tulle or shrink wrap which can both be found at a craft store.

For teens, great containers are sports cups, backpacks or make-up cases or again a decorate plastic organizers or food storage containers. Great gifts for teens include computer media, gift cards for online entertainment, and magazines. All purpose fillers are the same as for adults minus the liquor and wine.

For children some great containers are toy trucks, plastic pails, lunch boxes, or doll furniture. Great fillers for kid's baskets are character themed cups, plates, and bowls, markers, stickers, candy, small toys, Christmas ornaments if appropriate, or coloring or activity books.

You can make a great gift basket for almost any gift need. They can be personalized for anyone and provide a fun and festive surprise. Unusual containers or ones you make and finish yourself along with a few appropriate decorations can be a great gift for almost any occasion.
