Monica Bullock
I loved preparing for my wedding. It was a fun and exciting time. Being involved in small details just made the ocassion that much more special to me. I even made my own wedding bouquet ring. I'm no craft professional, but I enjoy a good craft. If you are thinking about making your own headband wedding veil then use this guide to get you started. Here's how to make your own headband wedding veil.

Why a Headband Wedding Veil?
If you are thinking, that's eighties! Think again. There are many reasons to choose a headband wedding veil. The main reason I chose a headband wedding veil is because I got married outdoors and was worried about losing my veil. I loved it. They are easy to wear and if you forget combs or pins you won't be in trouble. One less wedding nightmare to imagine!

Supply List for Your Headband Wedding Veil
1 yard of white tulle for short mid back veil (more if you'd like it longer)
3 feet of ribbon 2 inch wide (also white but you could use ribbon with gold or silver edging)
sharp scissors
hot glue and glue gun
3 large white roses
2 white sprays of leaf
1 yard of string imitation pearl
1 yard of string decorative clear jewels

Here's How To
First using the ribbon fit it around your head where you plan on wearing the wedding veil. Don't make it super tight, don't forget you'll need to put tulle on the ribbon. Use paper clips to mark on either side your temples. You'll need to mark where the tulle will begin and end. Glue the tulle to the ribbon. Then on top of the ribbon add the white leafing to the back of the veil. Then put the roses to the back of the veil. Put the largest rose in the center. Then add the spray to the veil letting the spray fall down the back of the veil. For fun you could carefully add rhinestones to the veil. Let the hot glue set. Then refit the ribbon to your forehead. You can make it smaller by using a touch of glue to shrink any gap you may have. But remember to take in consideration that you'll have your hair done. Practice putting on your headband wedding veil. After the wedding you can store the veil and use it again when you renew your vows!
