How to Make Your Own Pixie Dust

Pixies are magical creatures that are usually portrayed as small and human-like in form. They are usually mischievous in character. Tinkerbell from the "Peter Pan" and "Fairy" movies is a good example of a pixie. Pixie dust allows humans to fly in the "Peter Pan" movies. Making pixie dust is a fun craft and can be given as a magical gift.

Supplies

• Micro fine glitter in three colors
• Craft glitter in one color
• Small bottles with cork stoppers
• Small funnel
• Red heart buttons
• Confetti (optional)

Directions

1. Using a small funnel put micro fine glitter in the bottom of the jar. Next add another layer of micro fine glitter in another color. Add the third layer of micro fine glitter.
2. Make a wish for the person receiving the pixie dust while holding the red heart button. Put the heart button over the micro fine glitter. If a child is doing this craft with you let them make the wish and add the heart.
3. Add craft glitter over the heart to seal the wish. Add a small amount of confetti if desired.
4. Place cork or other top on the jar to seal the pixie dust.

Many bottles of pixie dust can be made at one time making it an ideal craft for a birthday party or to give as a party favor. Pixie dust also makes for a special birthday gift for a birthday princess. Give the gift of pixie dust alone or give it with a magic wand and tiara.
