How to Make Your Own Vegas Themed Wedding Favors

DIY Dice Box Wedding Favors

meeker
Dice box wedding favors are super easy to make. They can be filled with all kinds of goodies and they make fun little keepsakes for your guests.

Supplies:

12x12 white cardstock
Red cardstock
Fancy ribbon: red or black
Acid free glue that dries clear
Cricut Expressions Cutting Machine by Provo Craft
12x12 Cricut Cutting Mat
George and Basic Shapes Cricut Cartridge
Tags, Bags, Boxes and More Cricut Cartridge

Directions:

Start off with your Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridges loaded into your Cricut machine. Then place a piece of 12x12 white cardstock on your cutting mat and load into your Cricut machine. Set your Cricut to cut an 8-inch square box (sqrbox) and cut. Assemble the box, gluing all tabs except for the top.

Now change the cartridge to the George and Basic Shapes cartridge and load in a piece of red cardstock. Set your Cricut to cut the ½-inch heart and multiply your cuts times 21. You will need 21 hearts to cover your dice box.

Once you got your hearts cut out, place your die box in front of you facing the right way so that the opening of the box is on top. Follow these guidelines for placing your hearts on your dice and I will explain why I chose to do it this way.

Top: 3 hearts...starting in the top let corner down to the bottom right corner

Front (side facing you): 2 hearts...starting in the top right corner down to the bottom left corner

Left (your left): 1 heart...right in the center

Right (your right): 6 hearts...3 hearts down the left side and 3 down the right side

Back: 5 hearts...one in each corner and one in the middle

Bottom: 4 hearts...one in each corner

The reason why I have the number four on the bottom of the dice is because in the Asian cultures, the number four is an unlucky number. They treat the number four like westerners treat the number 13. The color red is a lucky color in Asian culture so on their dice they make sure the number four is colored red to counter act the unluckiness. The number two is considered a lucky number because it is believed that "good things come in pairs."

Tie your ribbon onto your box and fill with goodies!

Tips:

-You can use a shear or satin ribbon to give your boxes a more elegant look. Also you can try to find ribbon that is printed with hearts or words like love, forever, etc.

-You could also change the colors of the dice. For example, make the box red with black or white heart or circles for the numbers.
