Choosing to paint and decorate a pumpkin instead of carving can give you the opportunity to get really creative. Choosing unique characters to design your pumpkin after can be a lot of fun, too. Painting and decorating your Halloween pumpkin to look like Raggedy Ann is super easy, and your finished pumpkin is sure to look great. If you want to paint and decorate your pumpkin to look like Raggedy Ann, just follow these easy directions.

Supplies you will need - In order to paint and decorate your Halloween pumpkin to look like the Raggedy Ann pumpkin in the photo, you will need: light peach colored acrylic paint, construction paper in black and red, a roll of red streamers, a black sharpie marker, a hot glue gun, and a glue stick.

Step one - Be sure to complete this step on a covered workspace (using a plastic tablecloth purchased at your nearest dollar store works great!). Paint your entire pumpkin with the light peach colored acrylic paint, and allow it to dry completely.

Step two - This step can be a little bit time consuming, but it really isn't difficult. Cut strips of the red streamer so that when they are folded in half, they are the right length you want for Raggedy Ann's hair. You will need to cut the strips in different lengths because you'll want the strips used for her bangs to be shorter than the rest of her hair. Fold each piece in half, and use your glue stick to secure the loose pieces together at the top. Then, cut the glued and folded strip in half, lengthwise. Repeat this procedure for all of the hair strips you will need. When you have all the hair strips that you need, use your hot glue gun to secure them at the top of your pumpkin around the stem.

Step three - For Raggedy Ann's eyes, simply cut two identical circles out of the black construction paper. Use your glue stick to glue them in place on the pumpkin.

Step four - To create Raggedy Ann's nose, cut an appropriately sized triangle out of the red construction paper, and use your glue stick again to affix the nose to your pumpkin.

Step five - Use the photo as a guide, and cut the shapes for the two sides of Raggedy Ann's mouth from black construction paper. Glue these in place with the glue stick.

Step six - Cut a small oval out of red construction paper to glue in place between the two sides of Raggedy Ann's mouth.

Step seven - Finally, use the black Sharpie marker to draw the eyelashes underneath each of Raggedy Ann's eyes.

Just seven easy steps, and you've painted and decorated an adorable looking Raggedy Ann pumpkin!
