Step-by-step

Shaggy 2 Dope is one member of the duo known as Insane Clown Posse. Shaggy 2 Dope and Violent J both paint their faces like clowns. Shaggy design is an unusual angry clown. It is custom to paint your face when going to an Insane Clown Posse concert but many people do not know how to correctly paint their face like Shaggy. It is a very simple but long process.

First you will need several materials. A set of small paint brushes is essential. They need to have soft bristles and at east one of them needs a flat course tip. Face paint is also needed. Shaggy usually uses black and white. The most expensive paint is not always the best. You can buy a small tube of black and a small tube of white for about two dollars each and they will work just fine. Lastly you need q-tips and either a sink or a cup of water. If you are needing your paint to last for several hours, you may want to have a can of hair spray also.

Using your middle three fingers cover your face in a thin layer of white face paint. Don't use enough to make the color completely opaque, just enough to give your face a dusty white appearance. Then wet a q-tip with your water & begin to outline your design.

Shaggy 2 Dope has his "eyebrows" very thick. Starting about an inch below your hair line and at the middle of your eyebrow, wash off a line of paint about two or three inches long. At the outer part of your real eyebrow wash off a thin line down the side of your face and stop at the outer corner of your eye. Where you started the pattern for Shaggy's eyebrow, drop the line straight down about one inch and make a small curve towards the mid-line of your face. Then curve it back up until it almost reaches the very first line you made. From there wash off another line down until you touch the top of your eyebrow. Above your eyebrow go over about two inches. Make a curve up and back down that is just under one inch tall. Make the end of that curve connect with the line you washed off down to the corner of your eye. You can now use the same q-tip or a wet tissue to wash off all the white paint that remains inside your design. Do the same on the other side with a different q-tip and you have a pattern for Shaggy's eyebrows.

The pattern for his nose is very simple. Using another wet q-tip make an ellipse shape across the end of your nose & extend the sides out until it reaches the end of your nostrils. Once again you can use a q-tip or wet tissue to wash off the extra paint.

Shaggy 2 Dope has a very recognizable frown painted on. It matches up with his eyebrows almost exactly. Wet another q-tip and wash off a wide curve under your nose and on each side of the curve make a very small downward curve. Then take that line straight up to the top of your cheek bone. Wash off a line about two inches wide going toward your ears. Make a wide curve, almost straight, down from there to right below where your top lip meets your bottom lip. Take your q-tip and wash off a curve that goes straight up and down about one inch. Then make that curve go under your mouth, just below your bottom lip and connect with the other side. Take either a q-tip or a wet tissue to wash off the remaining paint inside your design. You now have the pattern for a frown.

Take of the soft paint brushes & dip it in your white face paint. Trace along your designs and then using your pinkie or middle finger apply more white paint. This time make your face completely white so that you can't see any of your skin through the white. If you have very dark or thick eyebrows of your own, you can use the flat course paint brush to fill in your eyebrows with more white paint. Then you can use another soft brush to fill in the black where your skin is showing. Leave your lips pink or whatever your natural skin color is.

If you need this face paint to last for a long period of time, lightly spray hairspray over your face. Make sure to keep your eyes closed so you do not blind yourself. Now you are ready to go to an Insane Clown Posse concert or any other event looking just like Shaggy 2 Dope. This paint would make Shaggy himself proud.
