How to Pamper Yourself at Home for a Night on the Town on Valentines' Day

When I ask women, what they do to pamper themselves, many of them respond impassively. To most women, pampering brings to mind what they do for others, and the idea of indulging on them is an unfamiliar concept because it smacks of being self-centered.

However, pampering is appreciating yourself--favorable treatments with liberal gratuities of increased confidence. To pamper yourself at home, for nights on the town, in ways that make you feel special are self-worth boosters.

This does not mean that you need to change your routine. Except for this one day-that, hopefully with stretch into a lifetime, gives you the privilege to ask, "What can I get myself to make this day better?

Sit quietly. Allow your breath to deepen. With each inhalation, gently throw all your cares away. Now pull your hair back and put on a headband to make sure your hair is out of your face for these steps.

Begin with a foot soak using a small pan or tub and fill it with warm water with vitamin E to soften the soles of your feet. Lightly scrub your feet after few minutes of foot soaking. Pat dry then soften feet with moisturizer.

Deep cleanse the face with avocado, kaolin or rosemary facial mask. Otherwise, baking soda with a little water is a great substitute.

While waiting for that mask to dry, close your eyes to relax your body and mind. You can sit cross-legged on the floor or on a chair if you find the floor too uncomfortable. Keep your body in a relaxed position that allows you to sit still for a long time without the risk of falling asleep. Meditating will help you achieve tranquility of spirit.

Let the facial mask sit on the skin for 20 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water. Pat your face dry.

Prepare to bathe. However, pampering is not just about getting clean. So, instead of rushing into the shower, soak in a luxurious warm bath. A warm bath dilates your blood vessels and helps circulation. Delight in the bubbles. Add herbs, and drops of scented essential oil to the water. Harmonize your bath with relaxing music, scented candles, or incense, to multiply by two the benefits of a warm bath.

Exfoliate your skin with oatmeal soap. When you are done, apply generous amount of lotion to your body with extra attention to the neck area. Treat the legs with cocoa butter.

Dress in whatever makes you feel comfortable, then start with your manicure. Home manicures are easy, if you have the right tools. Remove old polish then push back cuticles. Use clippers and nail file to shape nails. You cannot go wrong with red on a short square or oval-shaped nail. For that truly daring look, try a shimmery black polish. Soothe the hands by applying hand lotion or even your face cream.

You can also get a professional to trim your bangs, layer your hair, or simply shorten its overall length by few inches. This will give your hair the bounce and swing that does wonders for your state of mind.

Finally, dazzle the night with a bronzer or a dust of sparkle. A new lip color for your big night out of town is perfect.

Relax and rest. Appreciate this simple pampering of your feminine self. An hour of nap will leave you feeling gorgeous, fresh, and ready for your night on the town. Have a magnificent Valentine's Day!
