Everybody loves parties; however, nobody has the time to actually plan it out, and nobody wants to miss the action. Lots of people panic at the thought of inviting someone over to host a party. Most of the time, the people hate to clean up after the party, plan the party, and miss the action. If you love to plan for parties, this is a great job to get started on. Your job duties are to plan, create, and organize everything for every different-themed party you may be asked to plan. The advantages of this business are that you can use your creativity, and go to parties all the time! One of the most obvious disadvantages is that you may find yourself working more on the weekends and missing some of the fun with your friends. Also, you'll have to do a lot of the preparation and cleaning.

If you decide to explore in this business area, you'll need to be a people person, and like to go to parties. You need to be dealing with everyone from the cranky, and annoyed parent to the peppy cheerleading teens. You'll learn how to deal with sticky messes, and pick up some leadership skills!

There isn't much that you need in preparation for this business. All you really need is a phone, a planner for planning parties, and writing in events. Generally, the start-up costs should be quite minimal. Depending on the party that you choose to do, there will be different materials and things that you need. Your client should cover the food costs, and other materials. Remember to charge them extra for anything else that you will need to purchase out of your own money. Most of the time, advertising and what not included, the costs of starting this business up should not pass $800 - that is, if you're going to purchase expensive advertisement, and party materials.

There are many different advertising ideas that you can do. Advertising will generally cost the most although there are many different ways you can advertise for free. Some ideas are distributing fliers and brochures. You can plan free parties for a family member or a friend who will spread the word. Word of mouth is very powerful advertisement!

There are many different ways you can charge for the parties. One, you can charge a percent of the budget of the overall party expenses or you can charge a flat fee for each party depending on the size and the material costs. Make sure your client is aware that they pay for food, decoration, entertainment, etc. There are other ways that you can charge for the party. Depending on the circumstances you can also charge per hour. Depending on how long you work and how popular your parties are, you can generally expect an annual income of $4000 or so.

There have been a lot of people who have succeeded in this profession. For example, Kiera Kramer is the owner of Parties Perfect in New York. She has already succeeded in the business that she enjoys doing. Not only does she love to party, she earns some good money planning parties as well. Her start-up costs were less than a hundred bucks, which she spent on business cards, flyers and thank-you cards.

Nice article about how to be a party Planner. Well if you like to plan various events and dream of making it a career then I would like to share my knowledge about a website which has almost every planning job. http://www.PlanningCrossing.com is a good source of jobs because it only shows you jobs from employer websites and every other job board. The site http://www.PlanningCrossing.com has more jobs than any other website and thus serves as a good way to track down jobs as these jobs are often not advertised.
