How to Pass Through TSA Airport Security Quickly

Avoiding Long Holdups at the Airport

If you have ever been in an airport then you probably know that the long TSA security lines are the worst part. This is because everyone will need to pass through the metal detector which causes a lot of people to be held up and patted down by an agent. Also, because many items must be screened it takes a lot longer than most people would like, which creates stressful situations. However, I have found that there are some simple ways to make sure that you travel through airport security quickly:

You should pack lightly. This will make sure that you are held up as little as possible since they will not suspect that something is in your carry on bag. They also randomly check bags so that the smaller your bag is the quicker this will be finished if you are stopped with a carry on.

You should dress as if you are going to a meeting. Agents are more likely to stop you to conduct a search if they believe something could be hidden in your loose fitting clothing.

Take all the metal out of your pockets before you go through the line. That way there's no chance you will set the detector off. You only get two chances to pass through the detector before the security guard personally searches you.

Make sure that you limit yourself to 3 oz. of each liquid and carry them in a clear, plastic Ziploc bag. This is a limit, which is imposed for carry on luggage and if security finds any additional liquid in your bag they will dispose of those items.
