How to Pay Off Your Debt

Leanne Bloms
Everyone has debt. But sometimes it can get over are head and it can really stress you out. You just don't know what to do. I am here to offer some advice on how you can eliminate some stress and pay some of your debt down to a more manageable number.

The first thing you need to do is look at your budget. If you haven't done so already, you need to make a list of all of your debts and bills and compare them to the income that you have coming in. Prioritize your debts as to what is most important and then the smallest or easiest ones that you can pay off. You will want to pay off the small ones first because that will be one less that you will have to worry about.

Maybe you are over your head in debt and you have more bills than you have income coming in. I have a few suggestions to offer. First of all, do you have additional time in your day to pick up a second job? If so, you have a few options available for you. You could find a part time job and maybe a retail place, get a newspaper route, or even do some work online for some small cash.

If you do not have the time in your day to get a part time job, you may want to think about consolidating your bills. There are hundreds of bill consolidating companies that will take your debts, and put them into one smaller monthly bill. They work with your credit card companies to lower the interest rates so you can pay them down and get out of debt. It may be another option for you to check into.

If you feel like you are always tight for cash, you may want to take a look at where your money goes. You may be able to cut some bills down to help you pay off other debts. Call your utility companies and ask on how you can save money on your monthly bill. Maybe if you turn up the air a degree or two. You air conditioning will eat your money up if you keep it really cold. Trust me, a little savings will go a long way.

If you set goals on how you are going to get rid of them, stick to your goals and you will achieve them. Ask for help when you are need of significant help, or consolidate your bills to get them lower. Just remember, take action before they get way out of hand, You do not want to get over your head in debt, the more you are, the harder it is to get out.
