How Pay Pal Helped Me Donate to Japan Earthquake Victims

Gayle Crabtree
A friend of mine knows that I'm a blogger and writer here. Her suggestion is that I donate one day's earnings to a charity that's helping with the relief effort. That sounds like a good idea but in reality it's almost enough to buy a candy bar. Before developing, How Pay Pal Helped me Donate to Japan Earthquake Victims, I did some math to decide how much I could afford to give.

My donation is a drop in the bucket compared to the need. However, our donations could be noticeable if all online writers did the same to donate to Japan earthquake and tsunami victims.

Anyone with a Pay Pal account can donate through their system. Because online writers typically get paid online it makes sense to give to use Pay Pal. There's also another reason to consider.

Unlike most traditional credit card processors, Pay Pal is writing off all processing fees. This ensures that 100% of your donation goes where you want it to go.

Making the donation is easy. All you need to do is go to the Pay Pal homepage. A bright blue box reads "Japan Needs Your Help". When you click on it you are taken to a second screen with buttons and a drop down menu.

Several organizations have been selected to receive funds. You can donate to any of the following:

American Red Cross
Save the Children
Global Giving
Hands on Tokyo
AmeriCares Foundation
Operation Blessing International
Salvation Army National Headquarters
World Vision

To donate to Japan earthquake tsunami victims all you have to do is select your charity and go to the next screen to enter a donation amount. The buttons ask for $25. You can select a smaller or larger amount by choosing "other amount" from the drop down menu.

In a world of many uncertainties there is one thing that we do know is that every bit helps. If Pay Pal helped me donate to Japan earthquake victims it can help you too.

what a wonderful thing you have done, I wish I had the extra money to do it too but my writing money is still used for household builds and by the end of the month there is a 0 balance in my account. I have no savings at all.
