When ever something bad or strange happens to us, even something sad, usually the first thing we say is " I don't understand how...I don't understand why... or I just don't understand" but the Bible clearly tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6 to trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. Which is absolutely what we are supposed to do.
The Bible also tells us that His ways are not our ways and His thoughts not our thoughts. Did you ever stop to think that maybe the situations that have come upon you to cause your life to be un peaceful are because God has allowed them to. Sometimes God allows things to happen to us so that he can grow us as Christians and help develop our faith.
Having peace in our lives is a very important thing, we need peace to get through each day. Without peace we would basically be a bunch of insane heads roaming the earth. We are actually called to have peace, and in Galatians 5:22 peace is one of the fruits of the spirit. Philippians 4:6-7 says Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. What a powerful example, we are not to be anxious in anything but to just speak to God and he will grant you peace that transcends all understanding.
If you are feeling unpeaceful in your life first thing to do is surrender your circumstances over to God. God has the ultimate control over everything and sometimes He is just waiting for us to say we need him to take care of it and he will. Next step is to repent, with a open and pure heart just tell God that you know that you are a sinner and are sorry, and He will forgive you and wash you white as snow. Last, ask God to grant you with the peace that transcends all understanding.
You will notice that things that once bothered you, will not bother you so much anymore. Things that you could never understand why they are happening wont even matter. Your problems will not go away, but when we have a peace in our hearts, even our problems can't move us. Don't let the enemy continue to steal your peace and rob you of your joy and happiness. God did not intend for our lives to be chaotic and messy but he came that we may have a life more abundantly. Start living abundantly and go and walk in peace.
