How to Make a Peanut Butter Ice Cream Pie

Malcolm Tatum
If the kitchen is not your niche, but you still want to create a tasty dessert, here is a recipe that you can assemble in just a few minutes. Make sure to combine the ingredients several hours before serving so the pie has time to set.

Things You'll Need:
1 quart of vanilla or chocolate ice cream
1/2 cup of smooth peanut butter
1 frozen pie shell
1/3 cup salted coarsely chopped peanuts

Step 1

Bake the pie shell according to the package instructions. Set it aside to cool while you prepare the filling.

Step 2

Soften the ice cream. If you are in a hurry, place the quart container in the microwave oven and heat on high for thirty seconds. Turn the ice cream into a large mixing bowl.

Step 3

Heat the peanut butter slightly. Typically, thirty seconds in the microwave will leave the peanut butter easy to stir with a tablespoon.

Step 4

Combine the ice cream and peanut butter. Stir until the two ingredients are thoroughly blended.

Step 5

Pour the mixture into the cooled pie shell. Top with the chopped peanuts. Place the pie into the freezer compartment of the refrigerator for at least two hours. The pie will yield six ample servings.

Tips & Warnings

Experiment with variations on the recipe. Try using Black Walnut ice cream and chopped walnuts instead of vanilla ice cream and peanuts.

Keep in mind the pie needs time to set before serving. Otherwise, the filling will not remain firm.
