How To Make A Peppermint Hot Cocoa Kit-What you need
To make this peppermint hot cocoa kit, you will need the following items:
Melting chocolate wafers (dark or milk)
Bag of mini marshmallows
Peppermint candy crushed
Plastic spoons or a chocolate spoon candy mold with plastic handles
Treat bags for cocoa ingredients (about 6"x3")
Plastic party bags with twisty ties (about 9"x4")
Paper and a computer with label templates (for printed directions)
Curling ribbon
Nearly all these items can be found in party supply stores, craft stores, and supermarkets
How To Make A Peppermint Hot Cocoa Kit-The chocolate on the spoon
There are two ways to make a chocolate spoon. One is to get regular plastic spoons and dip the rounded end in melted chocolate about 2-3 times. Place them on cookie sheet lined with wax paper and keep the handle ends elevated above the chocolate end. Then let the chocolate harden in the refrigerator. Or you can buy a candy mold designed for making chocolate spoons and some plastic handles, melt the chocolate and pour into the mold cavities, insert the handles into the melted chocolate, and let the mold sit and harden in the refrigerator.
How To Make A Peppermint Hot Cocoa Kit- Crush the peppermint and add marshmallows and spoon
Take a bag of peppermint candies or some candy canes and remove them from their plastic wrappers. Place candies on a plastic or wooden surface and then take a heavy glass and smash candies into fine small pieces. Place about 1 tbsp of peppermint candies in a treat bag with about 12 mini marshmallows. Then add the chocolate spoon to the bag and tie the end with some curling ribbon.
How To Make A Peppermint Hot Cocoa Kit-It's all in the packaging
To make your peppermint hot cocoa kit look attractive and professional, place the bag with the ingredients in a larger plastic party bag. You can choose a clear bag or one with designs. Now print some directions. Your computer should have templates for labels. I choose Avery template 5395 which prints eight labels on a sheet. Use the font of your choice and print up these directions:
Peppermint Hot Cocoa Mix
Pour 6 ounces of boiling milk into a cup. Stir in chocolate spoon until chocolate is all melted. Toss in marshmallows and crushed peppermint candy.
For an extra special touch, you can cut and paste a cute picture on the directions.
After you print and cut up your directions, take a pen and poke a hole on the left side of the directions. Place the twisty tie in the hole and wrap around the tops of your plastic party bags. Pair this with a nice coffee mug and you've got a great little gift for someone.
