Our society has been misled by the charisma of television and Hollywood. Real life possessions are sensationalized by media to increase ratings and downplayed by skeptics who in turn empower the evil entity. Unlike the tools used by actors in the movies or in television, you don't require holy water, crucifixes, holy robes, sacred epistles, rosaries, or that ominous weapon specifically tailored by the hand of God. Performing exorcisms is much like solving riddles. They don't require much thought and the answers are typically found within the questions themselves. By placing too much importance on tools, you unintentionally place too much importance on the ritual or performance. The act becomes a glorification of the demon instead an act of casting out and destroying the demon.
Satan and demons control you in three different ways: a) through oppression, such as when have no hope and are filled with despair. These are the times we are most weak and contemplate suicide or murder; b) through obsession, This is probably the most popular. This includes obsession to pornography, sex, drugs, music, crime, and/or other worldly things; and c) through possession, this is direct possession of the persons soul by a demon or Satan himself.
Alas, the only requirement is God and his eternal power. God the Almighty is the only weapon required to cast out and destroy evil. He is the only sword of destruction and the only requirement to perform an exorcism. Through rock solid belief and faith, anyone is capable of performing an exorcism. When Jesus performed exorcisms, he was not a catholic priest. He was the Son of God and he instructed us to follow his example. Proof of this is written all over the Holy Bible. When God sent his only Son to die on the cross for us and wash away our original sin, he also empowered us through his grace to choose Him and be saved. Therefore, in the spirit of our Lord in Heaven Jesus Christ, the following steps are all you need to perform a successful exorcism.
1. Determine if the person believed to be possessed is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. If so, contact the proper authorities and request for the individual to be treated appropriately.
2. Remove all Fear from within you. Once you develop Fear, you might as well give up. You need to develop immediate rock solid courage. In fact, it would be to your benefit to generate some adrenaline by becoming angry. Anger is a more useful emotion when performing an exorcism. A bold display of courage will catch the evil entity by surprise since they gather strength from your fear. Fear is of the devil. Courage is unique only to Jesus and those who follow Him .
3. You must Believe in God. Atheists, agnostics, skeptics, and part-time/convenience believers do not have the power to perform exorcisms. Unwavering belief in God the Almighty will give you the ability to destroy evil.
4. After you believe in God, have Faith in Him. You must have rock solid faith and expect His work through you to manifest itself. Faith means that you expect God to perform miracles through you. You become God's most powerful weapon and His most useful tool in battling evil on earth.
5. Faith without Action is certain death. What good is it to have belief and faith if you don't put any action into your belief and faith? You must pro actively and courageously engage the enemy through aggressive and Jesus powered prayer. Boldly demand the evil entity to exit the soul and cast it back into the fiery Lake where it came from.
You must pray without pausing until the demon is exorcised. If you become weakened or grow tired, immediately have some one else take over and continue until the evil is cast out.
The more people that participate, the better and faster the evil entity will leave the soul. Hold hands, encircle the victim, and always pray to in the name of Jesus and humbly ask Jesus to remove all that is evil from the victim. Complement prayer by forcefully demanding the evil demon to leave, always in the name of the Almighty Jesus. Satan and his demons Fear Jesus.
Strongly and confidently read passages from the Bible if you feel you are growing weak from the repetitious prayer. The Armour of God is always a great way to protect yourself during exorcisms.
Once the evil entity has left, the victim should commit his/her life to God through by accepting Jesus as his/her Lord and Savior. Only through Jesus will one get to heaven and the Father. Not doing so will place the victim in risk of being possessed again, and worst yet, of being cast into the eternal fiery lake.
"And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him." 1 John 5:14-15
God be with you.
