How to Personalize Your Blogger Blog

You aren't limited by the templates that you see when you first setup your Blogger account. In fact, you aren't even limited by the templates you can access once you finish setting up your account. You can personalize your blog as much as you would like. This includes changing the background, text and of course the gadgets and how they appear on the screen. The following are just a few of the ways you can personalize your Blogger blog.

Change the Font

All the templates Blogger offers come with preset fonts. You can change the font of everything from the blog title to the text above your gadgets. To change the fonts of your blog, you will first need to click design on your Blogger dashboard and then click on the template designer. This will take you to a section that allows you to personalize almost anything on your blog. You will need to click on the Advanced tab to make the necessary changes. Once there, select the type of text you want to change. Not only will you be able to change the font, but color as well.

Select a New Background Image

Templates also come with preselected background images. These images can be very generic, especially if your readers have seen the same image on thousands of other blogs. If you select the Background tab under the template designer, you will be given the option to remove the background image and select a new one. Blogger offers several images and you can also upload your own photo to better personalize your blog. It's important to note that some layouts do not allow you change the background image. You will first need to change the layout, which can easily be done under the Layout tab in the template designer.

Add a Blog Title Image

Another great way to make your blog stand out is to add an image to your blog's title. This image will set behind the title text and is an easy way to personalize your blog. It's important to choose an image that matches the theme of your blog. For example, if you are writing about food, you may want to use a photo of a meal you've prepared. One other bit of advice is to remember to change your blog's title font color so that it stands out against the picture. Otherwise it will be hard to see.

Search for Blogger Templates

There are a number of websites that offer Blogger templates. Some of these sites are free, but you must be careful to avoid sites that might also give you a virus with your new template. If you're in doubt, ask fellow bloggers where you can go for safe downloads.
