How to Personalize Old Navy Flip Flops

Ainsley Patterson
Old Navy flip flops are the best. They come in a wide variety of colors, they are inexpensive, and they are comfortable. Would you believe me if I told you that your Old Navy flip flops can be even better than they already are? Keep reading to find out some great ways on how to personalize Old Navy flip flops.

Buttons
There are some really neat buttons out there. If you don't know what I am talking about take a trip to your local crafts or sewing store and check out the wide variety of buttons they have to offers. Choose any kind of buttons that you would like to decorate your Old Navy flip flops with. I highly recommend buying buttons in the little bags that have buttons whose colors all go together. Once you get your buttons home simply hot glue or super glue them to the tops of the straps of your Old Navy flip flops. You might want to arrange the buttons before you start gluing to ensure that you are pleased with the results.

Beads
Just like buttons, there are beads in just about every color imaginable. When you are looking for beads to decorate your Old Navy flip flops with you are going to want to look for embroidery beads, those tiny ones that are about the size of a crumb, I like to get my embroidery beads from Walmart, they have them organized in little tubes by color. You will also need some clear thread for decorating your Old Navy flip flops with beads. Once you have your thread and beads, and of course your Old Navy flip flops, you will want to tight the thread around one end of one of the straps of your Old Navy flip flops. Then simply wind the clear thread around the strap, adding beads when the thread is around to the top and just keep going until you have covered both straps on the flip flops, tying the thread off on the opposite end as where you start. To keep the clear thread from tearing your feet apart you might want to hot glue a strip of fabric to the underside of the beading straps.

Fabric Strips
This is a very easy way to personalize your Old Navy flip flops. All you need to do is visit your local fabric store and choose a fabric that you would like to decorate your Old Navy flip flops with. But a half a yard of this fabric and then take it home and cut it into 1"x 6" strips. Take the fabric strips and tie them around the straps of your Old Navy flip flops until the straps are completely covered with fabric. The result should be some pretty shaggy Old Navy flip flops.

Hopefully you will have fun personalizing your Old Navy flip flops with one of these three easy crafts. Personalized flips flops make great gifts for birthdays, team sports, or even as a vacation going away present.
