How to Personalize Your School Supplies #1: Permanent Markers
Permanent markers can either be your best friend or your worst enemy. It's terrible when you're using one and accidentally mark something and it can't be removed but for back to school time embrace the permanent marker. Permanent markers come in several different colors. Buy several and write notes and draw pictures on your backpack, pencil cases and binder.
How to Personalize Your School Supplies #2: Puffy Paint
Puffy paint is an old favorite (buy it from the fabric department). Buy some tubes in your favorite colors and use it to draw designs on your book bag or snazz up a fabric book cover before putting it on a textbook. The options are limitless. Be your own artist and jazz up your junk.
How to Personalize Your School Supplies #3: Material
You can use swatches of material to personalize school supplies. Take a notebook and carefully glue some different pieces of material on it. You could do it in a quilt pattern or do it in a different design of your choice. Let your imagination soar.
How to Personalize Your School Supplies #4: Magazine Clippings
Have a favorite picture from a magazine? Use it! If you want to decorate a flat surface (like the outside of a notebook or the in side of a binder), take your favorite pictures, trim them up and glue them onto the surface. It doesn't have to be a picture either. Cut out words that appeal to you and glue them on.
How to Personalize Your School Supplies #5: Stickers
Stickers are a big hit. They are pretty affordable and certainly easy to apply. Again, these work best on a flat surface that doesn't have a material backing. Buy stickers from your local dollar store or order some neat ones online.
How to Personalize Your School Supplies #6: Photographs
Do you have some pictures of you and your buds that mean the world to you? Buy a binder that has a clear front that will allow you to place pictures inside. Looking at your favorite peeps each school day is sure to cheer you up every day.
How to Personalize Your School Supplies #7: Think Outside the Box
When personalizing your school supplies, it's important to think outside the box. Take a look at what you have. Do you have a stellar movie or concert ticket collection that you're proud of? Glue them onto the cover of a notebook or a binder for a fun original look. Maybe you have some beads that you find really attractive but don't know what to do with them, sew them onto your backpack. You can even hot glue change onto the front of the binder for a fun look (just be sure that you don't go to a school that has a metal detector).
