First, compile a list of things that your mother has done for you that stand out in your memory. Remember the time that she comforted you on your first day of school? Or the time your mother was there for you when your own child was born? Perhaps she made one of your birthdays more exciting by doing something unexpected. Maybe she helped you through an especially difficult time in your life. Start with the memories that stand out to you and work from there. Remember, great Mother's Day poems don't have to rhyme, but if that was the direction you were planning to go in, it helps to make a list of words and what rhymes with them. Then you can add body to the Mother's Day poem with your memories.
Second, think of your mother's great qualities. Perhaps your mother has a wonderful smile or a funny laugh. Maybe your mother makes the most delicious cake or has the best jokes. Is she your best friend? The best grandmother to your children? Explain why! Tell her how much you appreciate these things about her on this Mother's Day.
Thirdly, tell your mother how beautiful she is to you, and how grateful you are that you have some of her physical features. Nothing flatters a mother more on Mother's Day than knowing that you appreciate her sense of style and beauty! Find a picture of her that shows her how beautiful she is, perhaps on her wedding day, and include it in one of the projects below.
Lastly, print your poem over a watermark that is a picture of you and your mother when you were little, or on a past Mother's Day. Frame the finished product in a beautiful frame that your mother can hang on the wall. Or paste the finished poem inside the jacket of a photo album made up of past Mother's Days or of the special moments that you mentioned in your Mother's Day poem. One thing is certain; the Mother's Day poem that you have made for her will be unlike any other gift that she recieves! Your mother will always cherish your efforts to make this Mother's Day extra special with the personalized Mother's Day poem that you have created!
