How to Plan a Birthday Celebration While Visiting Walt Disney World
Tips and Tricks Designed to Help Plan a Birthday Party at Disney World During Your Next Vacation
For people who have a small budget, that is less than $100, a good idea is a small, but meaningful day. The World of Disney sells special birthday hats that are made of fabric and have candles coming out of the top of the hat; similar to the look the Mad Hatter was sporting in Alice in Wonderland. Another good idea is to visit the Town Hall on Main Street USA. Tell them it is your birthday and sometimes, guests can have a sticker or badge that denotes it is their birthday. If it is at the end of the day and a cake celebration is in order, birthday cakes of all sizes can be found at Walt Disney World. One of the best locations to order a birthday cake is at the Boardwalk Bakery, located on Disney's Boardwalk. There, they have traditional birthday cakes for sale but do require at least 24 hours notice. If you are short on time, however, Boardwalk Bakery offers Mickey cakes that are in the shape of his head and can feed approximately 6 to 8 people.
If a more extravagant celebration is desired, consider taking a birthday cruise; which can be taken on either lake adjacent to The Magic Kingdom or Epcot. These cruises are at night and depart in time for the Illuminations or Wishes fireworks celebration. Likewise, these specialty birthday cruises last for an hour and range from $200 on up, depending on party size and type of boat. The boats are positioned on the lake in front of the fireworks display and include audio so the presentation can be heard.
Finally, for a low-key celebration, nothing is more memorable than a character dinner. Reservations can be made 90 days before arrival and require a credit card deposit. A reservations specialist may be able to help suggest a particular dinner where a small, individual cake can be brought to your table. Also, if your party recipient has a favorite character, the reservations specialist can suggest which restaurant features that particular character.
Whether your birthday party is big or small, a celebration at Walt Disney World will be the happiest of them all!
