I have been overweight all my life. My entire family is obese. Obesity is a very serious condition. Eating the wrong foods or over eating can result in obesity. As we already know, drinking a lot of soda and eating ice cream can cause obesity too. There are a lot of things out there that can cause obesity when you do not take care of your body.
I have been on a diet for a week now, and yes I know it is hard to adapt to changing your lifestyle of eating and cutting all the foods out you used to eat. Believe me I am going through it right now. It is so hard. In order to get healthy, you have to make the decide whether you want to be a different person. In order to lose weight, you have to have the motivation to do so. If you do not have the motivation, you will not do anything. You will try it one day and realize how hard it is going to be to lose the weight and you will give up and not continue on the right path without motivation.
I have a wonderful husband who is supporting me in this lifestyle change. He walks with me and exercises with me so I do not feel like I am doing by myself. It is good to have someone to work out with you because it motivates you even more to achieve your goal. For me, my husband is my motivation. No, I am not losing weight for him or anybody, but myself. My husband supports me very well and I think that is what is keeping me going.
There are many issues that arise when being obese. There are heart attacks, strokes, joint problems, breathing problems, sugar problems, etc. If you stop and realize how many issues there are with obesity, you will know that it is a serious condition. Obesity kills so many people a year. I am 26 years-old and I know for a fact, that if I keep going the way I am going now, with eating anything I want and not exercising, I will die at an early age and I do not want that. I want to live to see my children graduate from college, be at their weddings and watch my grand kids grow up.
I have been having heart problems. I know it is from being overweight. I should not have let the sign of a heart problem encourage me or make me realize that it is time to change my life. I sit and realize everyday that I could died from being overweight. It is a scary thought.
My suggestion to everybody out there who is looking for a good way to lose weight is to have the motivation and make the choice in whether you want to lose first of all. Have moral support from you family and friends. Go to the gym 3-5 times a week if you have to in order to lose those pounds. You will see it will be better for you in the long run. I am glad I made the choice to be healthier in my life and so should you.
